A Brief overview of 17+ years in the music industry

When it comes to the music industry, Mike Ziemer is a man of many hats! Starting in 2002, Ziemer began interviewing bands and reviewing albums for online magazines in order to get into shows for free and meet his favorite artists. After building up a large list of contacts, he was asked by a local band to manage them. The band’s first request was for Ziemer to help them put together a concert in the suburbs, the rest was history. 

In March 2004, Third String Productions was born at The Plano Centre where Ziemer would hold shows in multiple rooms from 2004 - 2009 with attendance ranging from 500 - 4800! The Plano Centre was the birth place of Unsilent Night and So What?! Music Fest (previously known as South By So What?!).

After outgrowing the Plano Centre, Ziemer took his shows to venues all across Texas doing as many as 300 shows a year between multiple markets. So What?! found it’s home at QuikTrip Park maxing out at 18,000 attendees over a weekend.

As of 2018, Third String Productions is now a part of a larger company, Third String Entertainment, that Ziemer created alongside his business partner Orlando Mendoza to extend the company’s services to consulting, marketing, event coordination, and more.

In late 2018, Ziemer and a long time friend, launched Flip A Switch Music Group, a management company that represents producers, songwriters, influencers, and creatives. 

Over the years Ziemer has also run multiple records labels, a booking agency, and been a part of dozens of marketing campaigns for artists and events.

Third String Entertainment also has partnerships with Emo Nite, Furnace Fest, and The Throwback Party.

THIRD STRING RECORDS

Independent Record Label

Third String Records is an independent record label based in the heart of Deep Ellum in Dallas, TX. The label was established in 2014 to create partnerships with bands that enable them to take their careers to the next level. We offer deals that help otherwise independent artists grow their fanbase and begin making money from music sales, streams, and merch sales.

Over the years the label has released music for Assuming We Survive, Take It Back, Kid Liberty, Dear You, Like Ghosts, Mariner, Will Deely, Idle Lives, The News Can Wait, Naturalist.
